But lots of people did sell theirs which is like paying $20 more for the game; and Anet giving you a 100k bonus. I kinda hope they never give out a mini with a CE again; but if they do it should be a customized non-transferable mini. The CE bonuses should be permanently associated with your account and non-transferrable.

100K? I sold mine within an hour of it being released for 133 ectos, then I bought one yesterday to replace it for 12 ectos. lol
But I actually do agree with you. I think since this mini-pet was done last minute, they probably didn't anticipate the selling of them, or didn't think the prices would be as high as they were/are. I would have been just as happy with a customized pet.

It's the November issue. It says it'll be a unique pet available only through the magazine promo. I believe you can only apply one key per account so don't buy a bunch of magazines thinking you'll get a bunch of pets to sell

Anet is alway worrying about balance and making sure people don't have an advantage just from grinding for hours; well they shouldn't have an advantage for paying an extra $20 either. I love the CE bonuses; but they should be things like emotes that you can really show off; but don't give you an actual advantage over the standard edition.
|
Then how do you feel about the PC Gamer mini-pet? Is that unfair, too?
Hell, since mini-pets are basically birthday presents, those with multiple accounts / more character slots have a intrinsic advantage already, if you really believe that more money in this game gives you any real advantage.
There are very few things that a regular player can't afford that will give them some sort of gaming advantage. I know, I know uber-rare Golds, but really, is that a game-breaker for you?

Considering that mini pet will come from a magazine that costs a little over 5 bucks; and as soon as people start showing them off everyone will want to go out and buy the magazine for themselves; I'd be surprised if anyone was able to get 10k for that pet whatever it turns out to be.
I guess I'm just the rare kind of person that never gets run or power lvl'd. I just don't like when they just hand something to you without having to work for it. Of course, cool bonus items are always acceptable

i would agree, as ive also said its a paragon.... but the one site listed here with preview pictures from the game showed that same armor worn by someone with a scythe
granted nothing is stopping a paragon from using a scythe...
the henchies are obviously not done quite yet as we can also see... so its still just speculation, even from the screenshots on those german fansites...

Oh, well, there's your answer: about €46

it will be like 45 euros for the SE and 60 for the CE, i think that will be the same as factions. But it could also be that the standard wil be a bit more expensive like 50 euros because a lot of games are more expensive in the BeNeLux (belgium Netherlands Luxemburg). Thats because the compagny that brings out the games there is CD contact data or something and the think that if a game is good it is worth more than 50 euros (DOOM 3 anyone??).

Not as cool as a flying dragon, mind you...
Anyone want to trade?
Oh, and levortex, I completely separate myself from any stupid assumptions I made about the price of Guild Wars in Euros. I know nothing about the subject, and was foolish to even enter the conversation.

Purchase Guild Wars: NightFall with the Nightfall Starter Kit::
and receive a Guild Wars "Play Now" key for a 10-hour/14-day trial of Guild Wars and Guild Wars Factions; Guild Wars Nightfall Bonus Key, providing one additional character slot for a Guild Wars Nightfall account, as well as your choice of one of two exclusive items for the new professions—a Firey Sunspear of Shelter for the Paragon and an Icy Soulbreaker of Enchanting for the Dervish; Mini strategy guide, concept art, screenshots, in-game renders of characters and items, preview trailer, wallpapers, lore, quick reference card, music, and more!

So far as i can tell, there is NO news on whether or not the CE will have ANY additional in game content like the other chapters had for their CE's. If this is the case i will be purchasing the basic Nightfall game with the Bonus Pack. This combo is not only cheaper then the CE, but i also get additional in game content: a third character slot, trial key for a friend and 2 in-game items. As far as other things, you can see you get tons of other stuff too!
From what is listed, all i get with the CE are non-in-game...JUNK!! Skill pins, who cares? Soundtrack CD, umm, just play the game? Behind the Scenes: Making of the Game DVD, i'd rather play the game, k thx. Map, poster, art book, umm pretty much the same as offered with the Bonus Pack. So tell me again, why the CRAP would i wanna spend more money on the CE then the Game + Bonus Pack combo?!?!?!?! If they don't release news real soon about the CE in-game features, then they will lose a LOT of potential pre-order CE buyers, since they offer little/pitiful incentive. YA, so ill be pre-ording the Combo pack unless i hear other things...
So whatcha all gonna be doing? Cheers!
(EDIT:: I posted this also in the Pre-Sell Pack thread rather then create a whole new thread for my ideas, thx!)

well if youve seen ebay lately, the skill pins are going for a LOT of money...
personally, Im really happy i.ll get some skill pins! Even if I wasnt a collector of many things, I could easily sell them on ebay to cover the extra cost of the CE... (its not like selling gold or items, these are real-world collectables)
The little extras sound pretty nice this time around (even tho noone seems to know WTH the character standee is :P but Im sure more excited about that than I was the "factions sticker set and mouse pad" lol)
id be sure that they would have some kind of in-game emote effect, otherwise they would break tradition.
maybe itll be a totally new emotes, like if you have a CE Paragon you can /burning visual, or something like that...
"how do you get backup dancers?"
"buy the CE"
now will be:
"why are you on fire?"
"buy the CE"
similar to the 'rank' emotes, but tailored to paragons and dervishes each specifically... and have them be sustainable emotes, like /dance or /excited or /bowhead are.

I dunno what i'll be doing... Probably nothing, cause this whole pre-order, pre-release, bonus pack, collectors edition, starter kit junk is all way too confusing. I wish they could get all their info on one official page, and simplify their wording of things.
I'll probably just wait to buy anything until oct 27th when the game is actually released, and I can grab one from my local game store. Although I would pre-order CE or Bonus pack if I was sure what I was paying for.
